We are facing difficult times, with ongoing threats against our communities (eg racist riots, proposed cuts to disability benefits, Supreme Court ruling on gender identity..) We felt the best way we can help is to set up a Community Response Fund to support communities responding to these events.
Often it’s the people most affected who spring into action to form new groups, organise demonstrations and support each other, and the costs are usually covered by those very same people. This fund is to take some weight off their shoulders by providing small amounts of money quickly.
We don’t have much in the bank having given out all our funds at the end of last year, but have put £1,000 in the pot to start things off and aim to raise more. Groups can apply for up to £150 (this will be reviewed to reflect funds available and demand). All the details are here:
