Summer outreach

We’ve had a busy summer, initially focusing on spreading the word in areas we haven’t received many applications from in the past (eg north and south Bristol) and then working to find more people who can offer support to our groups who achieve so much with so little. Here’s what we got up to:

  • Taking applicant leaflets to 45 community centres and libraries across Bristol, including Avonmouth, Lawrence Weston, Southmead, Brentry, Easton, St Paul’s, Brislington, Hillfields, Speedwell, Fishponds, Knowle West, Hartcliffe, Withywood and Whitchurch
  • Organised We Are the Funder Now with Social Change Nest, Open Collective and Rising Arts, offering advice around fundraising for grassroots groups and giving applicants the opportunity to chat to us before making an application
  • Attending the Unconference for community activists, held in Ashton Vale
  • Taking our stall to Inns Court Summer Festival, Knowle West Community Fun Day, Hartcliffe Summer Fair, Bristol Transformed, St Werburgh’s Community Centre open day, Forwards Festival, Trinity Centre Community Celebration Day, Radical Roasters arts trail event and Rockaway Park arts weekend
  • Distributing fundraising leaflets around cafes, theatres, delis etc
