SORRY! WE ARE NOT CURRENTLY OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS
Our 2025 funding round closed 7 August, 5pm. If you want to find out when we’re next accepting applications please sign up to our newsletter. The information below is for reference only.
To apply for a grant of up to £1,000, please follow these steps:
- Read through the criteria and previously funded groups to decide if your group is in line with what Bristol Redistro is looking to fund.
- Find out if someone in your group is up for coming to the funding day, which will be on [date].
- Complete and submit the short application by the deadline of [date]. You can apply via online form, email, audio, video or over the phone.
The funding day: All groups receiving money are invited to the funding day, which is an informal day to get to know each other and celebrate your work. We aim to tell you by the end of October if your application has been successful and to invite you to the funding day if so. We understand that group events are not for everyone, and if there’s no one in your group who would feel comfortable attending then you don’t need to attend and will still receive the grant. We’d really encourage you to come if you can as it’s a great opportunity for groups to learn from one another, make new connections and feel inspired by all the great work going on around the city.
Successful groups will be sent a grant agreement after the funding day and funds will be transferred shortly after it’s returned.
Sharing your application: Our decision-making process involves previously funded groups and current applicants scoring applications and deciding which groups receive money. We will therefore be sharing your applications with these groups. Please let us know if you have any questions about this.
Our aim is to continue fundraising up until the funding day. We’d like to let people know which groups have been short-listed and feel this might encourage more people to donate. If you are short-listed we will check with you if it’s ok to share this publicly.

Please contact us if you need any help or advice on completing the application. We want to be as accessible as possible so have a few options. As we are all volunteers how much we can do will depend on our availability so if you have access needs please get in touch as soon as you can.

Application questions
As a wealth redistribution group we aim to transfer money from those who have it to those who don’t. In Bristol, many people are struggling financially, in particular single mothers, disabled people, Black people and people living in working class/ low income areas such as Hartcliffe and Withywood. Many groups in Bristol, particularly those that are predominantly white and middle class, already have options for accessing income and funding (family, professional job, personal savings, networks, capacity to fundraise for mainstream grants). Before applying, we’d like to ask groups to consider whether they could raise money from elsewhere so we can ensure our funds are reserved for those who do not have the same options.
