We raise money from individuals. Sometimes we receive donations in their hundreds or thousands but most are smaller. Redistro is a wealth redistribution project. Our aim is to raise funds from those who have more than they need to get by – people who’ve perhaps received an inheritance or come into money another way, such as having a well-paid job.

In 2023, we raised £16,905 from our crowdfund and £1,640 from regular monthly donors. We gave out grants totalling £20,600 – this was 85% of our spending. The rest of the money was spent on funds for the shortlisting panel (our previously funded groups), communications (website, fliers) and meeting costs (venue hire, food, facilitation). We don’t have any paid staff or offices and we always use local, independent caterers and community venues.
