The Redistro collective is made up of people from different class and wealth backgrounds. We are all unpaid and take care of the admin, fundraising and other organisational tasks. We also work with people with wealth to support them to reflect on their privilege and to use it to support those experiencing and challenging inequality and injustice in a way that doesn’t perpetuate power imbalances. We’ve all been involved in a number of community projects and campaigns and between us have over 20 years experience of participatory processes in funding.

We’ve also recently been joined by Louis, Jess, Rebecca, El, Lottie, Katherine and Deborah.
Our decision-makers
Once we have funded a group they are invited to join a panel to decide which applications are funded in the next funding round. The panel is therefore constantly changing. The initial process is for the panel to individually read and score the applications, and then for those who can make it to come together and use those scores to draw up the shortlist. As a gesture of thanks we offer people £50 for scoring and £50 for attending the meeting. For round 5, the following people were part of the panel:
- Kate, Avon indian Community Association
- Elizabeth, Reparation Bookclub
- Paulette, Pride of Ruth & Mount Horeb
- Sophia, Steppin Sistas
- Trace, DET Entertainment
- Bryony, SLEEC
- Layla, Bristol Sex Workers Collective
- Dave, Filwood Community Market
- Jason, Reparations Bristol
- Judit, Flourishing in St Paul’s
- Nanyamka, Sekhmet Education
